Studio Information:
PIANO instruction. Open to students from beginners through advanced, elementary school age through high school. Instruction is geared primarily towards classical training, including broad-based repertoire, technique, and music theory. Lessons range from 30 minutes to 1 hour weekly. Students participate in approximately 4 recitals and 4 performance classes per year, in addition to activities sponsored by OMTA. These include recitals, Junior and Senior level Master Classes, Adjudications, Convention Honors Recital Competitions, Concerto Competitions, and music Festivals. Other activities include the Chopin Competition in Seattle, the Seattle Young Artists Competition, the WSMTA-MTNA Performance Competition, the WSMTA Outstanding Artist Competition, the CAYSA Concerto competitions, WMEA Solo and Ensemble Contest, and WMEA All-State Competition. My goal is to set high standards for each student to reach his/her full potential, and to give as much encouragement as possible, by recognizing the effort that has gone into each achievement along the way. The process is thorough, but the results are the love of music-making and the skills to do it.
